NNPC’s corporate unit, the National Petroleum Investment and Management Services (NAPIMS), has denied it spent $9million on staff transfers and $2million on vehicles maintenance.
The $9million was recently reported to have been spent on staff transfers during a submission on NAPIMS’s 2016 budget performance to the Senate Committee on Petroleum, Upstream.
NNPC in a statement on Tuesday said the amount actually consisted of appropriated items on pension fund, retirement benefit and staff transfers/redeployment.
It said that the $2million allegedly spent on vehicles maintenance, comprised budget items which included light vehicles maintenance, operation and fuelling.
