Police parade three kidnappers, others

The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) on Monday paraded three kidnappers alleged to have collected one million naira for the kidnap of their victims in Abuja.

The NPF spokesman Jimoh Moshood while parading the suspects at the Force Headquarters in Abuja said the suspects arrested over the kidnapping include: Uche Obiora, Michael Ishaku , Raphael Dauda and Mohammed Sanusi Haruna whose room was used to keep the victims for nine days at Mpape quarters, Abuja.

Moshood said operatives of the IGP’s Special Tactical Squad working on actionable intelligence, with the assistance of Technical Intelligence Unit TIU/ATIC, smashed the vicious kidnap for ransom gang and arrested three kidnappers on 12th February at their hideout in Abuja and Kano respectively.

He said: “the suspects confessed to the crime and admitted to have collected one million naira ransom money before releasing the victims. Investigation is being intensified to arrest the other fleeing members of the syndicate.”

He said exhibits recovered from them include: “the operational vehicle of the gang (Abuja color Mazda) one AK 49 rifle and 59, 7.65 mm live ammunition.”

The Police also paraded one John Jumare of Buggai villiage in Chukun Local Government Area of Kaduna State over unlawful possession of fire arms and ammunition.

Moshood said the exhibits recovered from him include three locally made Rifles with fifty one rounds of 7.65 mm.

He explained that the IGP’s Special Tactical Squad working on actionable intelligence trailed and arrested the suspect on 22/2/2017 at Buggai Village in Chukun LGA Kaduna State.

He added that: “the suspect confessed to the crime and mentioned one Nelson Paul who had earlier been paraded as his supplier. The suspect will be charged to court on completion of investigation.”

The Police also paraded three suspects; Ibrahim Mohammed, Surajo Yakubu and Danlami Musa over alleged car snatching around Bauchi and Adamawa States.

Moshood said exhibits recovered from them include: Peugeot 406; Toyota Camry Golden colour; Toyota corolla, Green colour and Honda Civic Black colour.

He said: “Operatives of the IGP’s Special Tactical Squad (STS) trailed and arrested the criminal syndicate that specialized in car snatching in Bauchi state and environs.”

He added that: “during interrogation, suspects confessed to be members of a car snatch syndicate that specialized in drugging soft drinks for drivers and in the process snatch their vehicles. Investigation is being intensified to arrest the remaining gang members.”

He said all the suspects will be arraigned in court on completion of investigation.
