Luxury Bus Plunges Into Majidun River, Ikorodu

A fully loaded luxury passenger bus coming from the eastern part of the country early Friday plunged into the Majidun River near Mile 12, Ikorodu, Lagos State.

Officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority and Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) officials are presently at the scene. So far three passengers have been confirmed dead while four people have been rescued from the accident.

 

The bus belongs to Guo Transport Services.

Following the accident there is a serious traffic from Ikorodu to Mile 12.

As at 9.15 a.m., the luxury bus has been pulled out of the river.

General Manager LASEMA, Adesina Tiamiyu confirmed the accident.
“The incident happened at Owode Elede after Mile 12. The luxury bus had a brake failure and lost control. It dived into the river. Several people were injured, two people are dead. Evacuation ongoing.”
