A pastor has been arraigned before a Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan for cutting off his wife’s breast, causing her death.
The man identified as Adejare Adebayo, 61, pleaded not guilty to the charge and was remanded in the Agodi Prison by Chief Magistrate F Richard.
The charge sheet read, “That you Pastor Adejare Adebayo on 24 December 2016 at 12am, Onikankan Village, Ibadan did unlawfully cause the death of Rukayat Adegbule aged 43 by cutting her breast, thereby committed an offence contrary to sec. 316 and punishable under vol.11 sec. 319 of the criminal code cap ix Vol. 11 of the Laws of Oyo State.”
The Prosecutor, Mr. Sunday Ogunremi, told the court that the wife died some days after the incident.
The case was adjourned till February 14,2017.
