Tension as NNPC shuts down projects, sacks 500 workers

Indications have emerged that  Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC has shut down OK-LNG and Brass LNG Projects, sacked about 500 contract workers.

An inside source wrote on his Facebook page that the projects that was conceived by the federal government in 2005 as strategic gas-prospect business aimed at boosting gas supply in Nigeria’s market and beyond and to employ over 50,000 Nigerian workers.”

He later added: “The government has to stop this injustice against Nigerian workers. People are loosing jobs every day and is affecting the southern part and especially the youth.

Please, help to broadcast the news so the leaders from the region can stop the government from going ahead wit the step on Janunary 1, 2017. Just imagine what that will it mean if over 500 workers add to the already skyrocketing rate of unemployment in this country.”
