Saraki asks DSS to investigate aide over breach of peace

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki has asked the Department of State Services (DSS) to carry out a thorough investigation on his aide, Ugochinyere Ikenga, who the service accused of conniving with Rivers State Governor,  Nyesom Wike to breach public peace.

The service has accused Wike  of engaging in a sinister plot to mobilize hoodlums to breach the peace and disrupt the machinery of governance via violent protests in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

In a statement  by Tony Opuiyo, the DSS alleged that Mr. Wike had recruited  Ikenga to mobilize hoodlums to execute the violent protests.

Saraki in a statement by his media aide, Yusuph Olaniyonu said his attention has been drawn to the DSS statement on Ikenga.

He said he would want to make it clear that he will never condone any action by any of his aides which threatens the peace of the country or is against the provisions of the law.

He hereby called on the DSS to properly investigate the allegations against Mr. Ikenga and if he is found to have acted against the law, then the law should take its natural course.
