The Edo State Police Command has arrested some armed robbers who were part of those that killed mother of a former Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Ifueko Omoigui-Okaro.
The armed robbers were arrested within the state.
So also were 25 others labelled at specialist in bank robberies arrested by the police.
The Edo State Commissioner of Police, Haliru Gwandu, confirmed the development on Tuesday.
Gwandu said that the bandits have robbed customers of several banks in recent times in Benin, the state capital.
Gwandu said three AK 47 rifles, live magazines and several other weapons were recovered from the suspects.
Robbers had shot Omoigui-Okaro’s mother as she left the bank a few weeks back.
The 81-year-old died as a result of the injury sustained from the gunshots.
