Former EFCC Boss, Lamorde Deployed To SFU

There are strong indications that Ibrahim Lamorde, former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has been deployed to the Special Fraud Units (SFU) in Ikoyi, Lagos as police commissioner.

It was gathered Monday that Lamorde was among some senior police officers deployed to various commands, units and formations by police authorities in Abuja.

With the deployment, the former EFCC boss is expected to take over from Ayo Francis Akinsanmi, who now to oversee force armament as police commissioner.

Lamorde was appointed acting chairman of EFCC November 23, 2011 during the regime of Dr Goodluck Jonathan, as president. He took over from Farida Waziri.

He was however confirmed substantive chairman of the anti-graft agency February 15, 2010 by the senate.

Lamorde, a 1984 Sociology graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, joined the Nigeria Police Force1986 and has served in various police commands, units and formations nationwide.
