Police confirm death of 3 persons in Suleja skirmish

The Niger Police Command has confirmed the death of three persons in a skirmish in Suleja on Monday afternoon.

The Public Relations Officer of the command, Bala Elkanah, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Minna that normalcy has, however, being restored.

“A thief who stole a handset stabbed the owner in the stomach when he was pursued. A mob that witnessed the act stabbed the thief back in retaliation.

“The patrol team of the police intervened quickly and took three persons with fatal injuries to the hospital. On reaching the hospital, all of them died unfortunately.

“So, we’ve restored normalcy and urged all residents to go about their normal businesses as we continue with our investigation towards finding the perpetrators of this heinous act,” he told NAN.
