Reuben Abati regains freedom

Dr. Reuben Abati, former spokesman of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has regained freedom after being detained for about a week by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Abati was arrested last week for allegedly collecting N100m from the former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki for a job not done.

The EFCC on Thursday granted bail to the former Presidential Spokesman, but he will drop his International Passport and produce a surety of not below Level 16 in the Civil Service as part of the conditions for his release from the anti-graft agency’s custody, Leadership newspaper reports.

It was gathered that while Abati is preparing to go home, the EFCC got a warrant to further detain former FCT Minister, Bala Mohammed.
