CAF elects two additional members for FIFA Council

The Confederation of African Football Congress has elected Almamy Camara of Guinea and Kwesi Nyantakyi of Ghana as two additional Africa Members on the FIFA Council.
The election was held a while ago as the Congress progresses at CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.

They defeated Senegalese and Madagascan candidates to pick the two slots in contention.
The results are:
Senegal –             Augustin Senghor  –        9 votes
Madagascar  –    Ahma d          –                     30 votes
Ghana  –               Kwesi Nyantakyi    –       31 votes
Guinea  –              Almamy Camara   –          37 votes

CAF Congress will also consider and take decision on the proposal by the Football Federation of Djibouti for the modification of article 18.3 of CAF Statutes regarding the candidacy to the Presidency of CAF.

The President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick was rumoured to have lobbied secretly to secure one of the two seats. Pinnick did not however feature in the election having denied earlier that he was eyeing the FIFA Council seat.
