Senate swears in 2 new senators

Two new senators have been sworn in to join the upper legislative chamber.

Former Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshall Isaac Alfa has been sworn in as Senator representing Kogi East senatorial district under the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP ).

Also sworn in at the Tuesday’s plenary is the newly elected Senator representing Imo North, Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu. He is of the ruling All Progressives Congress ( APC ).

Both new Senators who just won their rerun elections pledged their allegiance to the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The bill for Federal Capital Territory Transport Authority and bill for Chartered Institute of Loan and Risk Management of Nigeria passed first reading on Tuesday.

Also passed first reading are the bills for National Child Protection and Enforcement Agency; Economic and Financial Crimes Commission Act and Dishonoured Cheques Offences Act.
