Nigeria moves up to 64th on FIFA ranking

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have climbed up in the FIFA Coca-Cola world ranking as they moved up from 67th to 64th.

The ranking which also saw the Eagles climb to 14th in Africa, was the latest released by FIFA on Thursday and published on their official website.

Reigning Africa Cup of Nations champions, Cote d’Ivoire, are Africa’s highest ranked team in the world and number one in Africa after moving up two places from 36th to 34th.

Super Eagles 2018 World Cup qualifying foes, Algeria, dropped three places from 32nd to 35th in the world and number two on the continent.

Zambia, Nigeria’s opponents in the World Cup qualifiers in October, fell by one spot to No.92 in the world.

Cameroon, another country facing Nigeria in the World Cup qualifiers, dropped five places to 59th in the world.

Senegal climbed two spots from 41st to 39th, Tunisia up three places from 45th to 42nd while Ghana dropped eight places from 35th to 43rd.

In the world ranking, Argentina and Belgium maintained their number one and two positions respectively.

World champions, Germany moved up one place to third, Colombia dropped one spot to fourth and Brazil limped from 10th to 5th.
