Corruption Is Better Fought Under One Roof – Ribadu

A former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has advocated for the harmonisation of agencies involved in the fight against corruption, for optimal result.
Ribadu made the argument at a National Stakeholders Workshop on Recovery and Management of Recovered Assets organised by the Presidential Advisory Committee on Corruption, in Abuja.
According to the former Commission’s boss: “From my personal experience, and from the example of EFCC as an organisation, this work is better managed when we have all components under one roof that caters for everything, instead of having several agencies with overlapping and duplicating functions.
“Divided agencies tend to create problems, when investigators, prosecutors and custodians of assets are from different places.
“There is bound to be missing links and confusion.”
Meanwhile, Ribadu has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for demonstrating the
“political will” in the ongoing anti-graft war.
This was as he identified political will as well as support, as the tools needed to win the fight against corruption.
