Buhari sacks NPA MD, appoints Hadiza Bala Usman

President Muhammadu Buhari has, again, sacked the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Habib Abdullahi.
Abdullahi had occupied the position before now.
His initial exit was also as a result of sack.

To replace Abdullahi is the founder of the Bring Back Our Girls group, Hadiza Bala Usman.
The development was contained in a statement on Tuesday by the Director of Press of the Federal Ministry of Transportation, Yetunde Sonaike.
Usman is the first female MD of NPA.

Also appointed by Buhari on Tuesday were three new Executive Directors for the NPA.
They are Mohammed Bello-Koko (Finance), Prof. Idris Abubakar (Engineering) and Dr. Sekonte Davies (Marine Operations).

These appointments took effect from Monday.Usman was born on January 2, 1976 in Zaria, Kaduna State.She holds a B.Sc. Degree in Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and a Post Graduate in Development Studies from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom.

She started her working career with the Centre for Democratic Development and Research Training, Zaria, a Non-Governmental Organization, in June 2000 as a Research Assistant.
Usman worked at the Bureau of Public Enterprises from July 2000 to August 2004 as an Enterprise Officer.

She was hired by the United Nations Development Programme for the Federal Capital Territory Administration from October 2004 to January 2008 as Special Assistant to the Minister on Project Implementation.

She worked as Director of Strategy of Good Governance Group, a Non-Governmental Organisation, from 2011 to July 2015.

Usman was appointed as the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, in July 2015.

She held the position until her present appointment.
