Leicester to sign Ahmed Musa

Champions Leicester are poised to smash their transfer record for the second time in a week with a £16.6 million swoop for Nigeria striker, Ahmed Musa.

The Foxes have agreed a fee with CSKA Moscow and the 23-year-old will have a medical, according to his agent.

The signing will continue a summer spending spree by Claudio Ranieri, who splashed out £13 million on midfielder Nampalys Mendy at the weekend.
Musa’s agent, Tony Harris, said: “Everything has been finalised and Musa will be in England for his medical on Wednesday.”

CSKA coach, Leonid Slutsky, added: “He’ll be leaving on Tuesday and if you look at the way things are done over there you’ll see he is a player just made for English football.”
Ranieri has pressed ahead with the Musa deal despite Jamie Vardy’s decision to reject a move to Arsenal.

The pacy forward was seen as a possible replacement for Vardy.
Musa, who can also play as a winger, hit 18 goals in 44 appearances in all competitions last season for the Russian champions.
He has won 58 caps for Nigeria, scoring 11 goals.
