LASU promotes 40 staff, dismisses one

The Governing Council of the Lagos State University has approved the promotion of 40 non-academic staff of the institution and dismissed one staff for absconding from duty.
The information was contained in the University’s Official Bulletin obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos on Thursday.

The Bulletin noted that the promotion was approved by the University Governing Council at its reconvened 111th Statutory Meeting.

It added that the approval was given following the recommendation of the Appointments and Promotions (Administrative and Technical) Committee.

It stated that the Governing Council also decided that Nasiru Abdullahi, a Senior System Analyst, Information Communication Technology Unit, should be dismissed from the services of the university with effect from July 18, 2014.

According to the bulletin, the Governing Council noted that Abdullahi’s abscondment is “a rape on the university.
