Federal Government yesterday appointed Mr. Muhammdu Babandede as the Acting Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service.
The appointment was contained in a letter signed by the Minister of Interior, Lt Gen Abdulraham Dambazua to the outgone CG, Mr. Martins Abeshi to handover to Babandede.
Until his appointment, Babandede was DCG in charge of Operations and Passport Directorate.
Abeshi, who just retired, took over from Mr, David Paradang last year when Paradang was suspended by the Presidency.
The letter sentto retired Abeshi read in parts: “I write to notify you that the last day of your service in the Nigeria Immigration Service has lapsed on Sunday 15th May, 2016 in accordance with the extension granted you.”
