A telecommunication mast collapsed on a family of eight during a heavy rainstorm. The incident happened in their apartment on Saturday at about 10:30p.m in Byazhin Across, Kubwa, Abuja.

According to a neighbour, who prefers anonymity, said they were fast asleep when they were woken up by the sound of the mast crashing on the building.

“We had already gone to bed when the rain started. The noise of the mast which landed directly on top of our house woke everybody up,” he said.

He said the father had to hurriedly arrange for an accommodation in a nearby hotel in the area where the entire family were temporarily moved to.
