Newcastle, Norwich relegated from Premier League

Sunderland’s emphatic 3-0 win over Everton on Wednesday night, secured their Premier League status for one more season, but confirmed the relegation of Norwich and North East rivals, Newcastle United.
Patrick van Aanholt opened the scoring with a free-kick, before Lamine Kone grabbed a brace, as Sam Allardyce oversaw a great escape again.

Sunderland now have 38 points from 37 matches, ahead of their final league game against Watford at Vicarage Road.
Norwich City fought from a goal down, to beat Watford 4-2 at Carrow Road, but the three points counted for nothing at the end of the day.

They will both join Aston Villa, who have since been demoted to the Championship.
