Suspected gunmen, who abducted a former Minister of State for Education, Senator Iyabo Anisulowo, on Wednesday night, are yet to demand any ransom for her release, ‘New Telegraph’ has learnt.
This emerged as Governor Ibikunle Amosun and heads of security agencies in Ogun State launched a manhunt for the suspected kidnappers Thursday and vowed to rescue the victim unhurt.
Anisulowo, 65, was abducted about 6pm on Wednesday while returning from her farm in Sawonjo, Yewa North Local Government Area of the state.
News360 Info learnt that the Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) in which the ex-minister and her aides drove had been recovered by the police after the abductors initially escaped with it.
The vehicle was said to have been recovered at a spot along Iganokoto-Imasayi road about 10pm on Wednesday.
Family sources told our correspondent that the suspected kidnappers, numbering four, have not contacted them to make their ransom demands known.
