N6.5bn fraud: EFCC arrests ex-guber candidate, Adamu

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has arrested the KOWA Gubernatorial candidate  in Bauchi State, Abdullahi Usman Adamu, over his alleged involvement in a N6. 5 billion fraud.‎

‘New Telegraph’ gathered from highly-placed sources at the EFCC, that Adamu, who is also the Managing Director of

Guroje Mining Company Limited, was arrested by men of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Bauchi, who later handed him over to the anti-graft agency.
The suspect, who had been declared wanted by the Commission, has been under investigation “for alleged criminal conspiracy, fraud and obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N6, 523, 431, 000.00(Six Billion, Five Hundred and Twenty-Three Million, Four Hundred and Thirty-One Thousand Naira), including $ 550,000.00 USD.”
One of the sources, who spoke in confidence with ‘New Telegraph’ Thursday, said trouble started when a Chinese, Fengquai Zhai, wrote a petition  alleging “that the suspect duped him over N6.5billion, after appointing him a shareholder with 30 percent share in his company, Solid  Units Nigeria Limited, in partial fulfillment of the mandatory requirements for incorporation of a company in Nigeria.”
