Arik Air makes emergency landing at Heathrow airport

An Arik Air Airbus A-330-200 plane has landed at Heathrow Airport after declaring an emergency on route from Nigeria, Mail Online has reported.

The aircraft had departed from the west African country’s largest city, Lagos.
It was scheduled to land at 18.30 but touched down at 18.57.

Flight W3101 took off from Murtala Muhammed Intl Airport in Lagos for its 6 hour 45 minute flight and landed at Terminal 4 at Heathrow.

Arik Air is a Nigerian airline operating a domestic, regional and international flight network. It operates mainly from two hubs in Lagos and the capital, Abuja.

The carrier transported its 10 millionth passenger on September 18 2012, on a flight between Johannesburg and Lagos.
