The Registrar and Bursar of the Benue State University, Dr. Timothy Utile and Mr. Aondoakaa Kwaghfan, have been relieved of their appointment over alleged involvement in fraud running into millions of naira.
Public Relations Officer of the university, Mr. Terzungwe Tser Vanger, who confirmed the development to New Telegraph, said the duo were relieved of their appointments and not sacked as may be misconstrued in some quarters.
It was learnt that the decision was taken after they were indicted by the report of a visitation panel constituted by Governor Samuel Ortom to review the activities of the institution from 2010 to 2015, the bulk of the work which was under the tenure of immediate past Vice Chancellor, Prof. Charity Angya.
The Chairman of the panel, Prof, Zachary Gundu, had during the submission of the report to the governor in December last year, alleged that principal officers of the institution were embroiled in fraudulent practices.
