Police arrests Six in attempt to sell 3-year-old boy

One Emeka Odili, alongside five other members of a syndicate were Monday apprehended by detectives attached to the Delta State Police Command, Asaba in their attempt to sell a three-year-old boy identified only as Chukwuka.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mrs. Celestina Kalu, confirmed to newsmen on Tuesday that the 3-year-old boy had been trafficked to Onitsha, Anambra state.

Their attempts were, however, foiled by the police, acting on a tip-off, leading to the arrest of Odili and five others.

Kalu disclosed that the suspects were arrested in Onitsha, Anambra State, adding that the police also arrested the girlfriend of one of the suspects identified as Blessing, who had been in the business over the years.

“Justina Odili, the mother of their latest victim, a resident of Umudaeke, Asaba raised the alarm and reported the incident at the ‘A’ Division Police.
