This was contained in the report of the House Committee on Public Account, which was given the responsibility to investigate the affected councils.

The affected chairmen are: Alhaji Muhammed Bunde, Birniwa Local Government; Alhaji Musa Harbu, Jahun Local Government; and Alhaji Alhassan Babandi, Gumel Local Government.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the tenure of the local government chairmen and councilors in the state will expire on March 7.

According to the report, Bunde misappropriated N72 million, Babandi N129 million, while Harbu squandered N140 million.

The Chairman of the committee and also the Deputy Speaker of the house, Alhaji Ahmed Garba, said the House had adopted the report of the committee.
