Al Shabaab Raid, Leaves 3 Dead

At least three men were killed after the terrorist group Al-Shabaab raided a village in Lamu, a coastal county in Kenya, according to media sources.

The attack, which occurred during the early hours of Saturday morning, was carried out by 5 gunmen. The attackers allegedly interrogated men and then executed some of them.

Speaking to Al Jazeera, the group’s spokesman confirmed the attack.

“Our fighters attacked non-believers in the occupied Muslim land of Lamu. Our Mujahideen killed several non-believers in the attack. We will give more details later,” the spokesman told Al Jazeera.

In 2014, Al-Shabaab attacked the area killing more than 60 people. The terrorist group has been increasing its attacks in Kenya after the country invaded Somalia in order fight the organization in 2011.

In January, a Kenyan base in Somalia was attacked by Al-Shabaab leaving scores of soldiers dead.  The Kenyan government responded with airstrikes on supposed Al-Shabaab fighters.
